torachan: a happy cartoon guy with the text "it's like a blast of happy up my ass" (blast of happy in my ass)
Oh my God. So it just figures that after my post about how I really don't like TV and wish I could just read books of all these shows, I find another show I want to watch. *headdesk* It's all [livejournal.com profile] nixwilliams's fault, but this looks awesome. You can watch the whole first episode (quite high quality, too) on the site.

Summary from the site:

Flight of the Conchords follows the trials and tribulations of a two man, digi-folk band from New Zealand as they try to make a name for themselves in their adopted home of New York City. The band is made up of Bret McKenzie on guitar and vocals, and Jemaine Clement on guitar and vocals.

Bret and Jemaine have moved to New York in the hope of forging a successful music career. So far they've managed to find a manager (whose "other" job is at the New Zealand Consulate), one fan (a married obsessive) and one friend (who owns the local pawn shop) -- but not much else.

The funniest part of the show is that they actually sing (it's kind of like a musical at times) and the songs are hilarious. There's this one where he sings about how this girl is so beautiful she could be a waitress, a high class hooker, or a part-time model. Then there's another song about robots ("the humans are dead, the humans are dead, we used poisonous gasses and we poisoned their asses)", and a third about not crying ("these aren't tears of sadness because you're leaving me, I've just been cutting onions, I'm making a lasagna for one").
