I have meatloaf in the oven! *sends "cook faster omg" vibes its way*

We've been going through stuff and sorting out stuff to toss, give away, and eBay (though I am done with eBaying for the moment and the next batch of stuff will probably wait til after Christmas). There were three ratty boxes in the closet (and one under my desk) of stuff for eBay, some of which we just decided to toss/give away instead. The rest has been combined into two of the nice plastic containers I so recently emptied.

Stuff on eBay is doing well. I've been getting two or three auctions selling with Buy It Now each day, and quite a few others have bids (lots of watchers, too), so hopefully those will sell well. This is not the best time to be having to go to the post office a lot, though. Ugh. The one closest to me not only is packed itself because of Christmas mailings, but there are also major parking problems as it hasn't got its own parking lot, just shares a tiny lot with the rest of the shops on that block, one of which is See's Candy. For those not from around here, See's is the California candy shop and will pretty much be jam-packed from the beginning of December through Christmas. I ended up having to park at the grocery store across and down the street.

Oh! One thing I went through is my old portfolio from when I was trying to do the art major thing. Found some stuff I could throw away (I didn't remember this, but apparently much of my watercolor class was spent making color samples...), but most of it I think I'm keeping, especially from one of my design classes where we made all sorts of handmade books (pop-up books and stuff like that). Man, I loved that class. I also found a bunch of half-done art projects, which are all getting tossed, as there's no way I'm going to ever get back to them (though I did take pictures of two). I plan to take pictures of the portfolio stuff and post that, too, whether you're interested or not. :p

I'd forgotten how many odd projects I did. I mean, the assignments weren't odd, but I always made them odd. Some teachers were cool with that, but I remember a couple graded me down for being too creative, especially my watercolor teacher (I sucked at watercolor, but she was always complaining about the subject matter, too). Also wtf, man, I really sucked ass at self-portraits. I will show you drawings I did of other people, which not only look awesome, but if you knew the people, are totally recognisable, and then there's my self-portraits, which look like they were done by retarded monkeys. :( (Though there is one cool one, but it only came out decent because I drew it with my hair covering my face.)

Ooh, I wanna see those pics!!

Also, yay for auctions selling! :D

Oh, and I got your package today!!!! Found the prezzie, which I will take to NZ with me and open on Christmas Day (even though I'm dying to see what it is) and am making myself leave the other goodies (including the manga - I want to get a good chunk of The Devil Wears Prada read in the various planes, buses and airport waiting areas) until I get back. Thanks heaps! :D

Oh cool. I was wondering if it would take longer because of the holidays, but it doesn't seem to have.
