There's this yakitori place I really like, but it's expensiveish and downtown, so we hardly ever go. When we do, though, I rarely order any chicken. All I get is skewer after skewer of asparagus wrapped in bacon.
Tonight I realized that I had a bunch of fresh asparagus that needed cooking, and since we had just gotten a bunch of bacon at Costo, I figured I'd make some of my own. I just cut the spears in half, cut the bacon strips in half, and wrapped half a strip around each half stalk of asparagus. Then I put them in a pan and fried them til the bacon was done, which also cooked the asparagus.
It's soooooooooooo good.
Take that, pricey Japanese restaurant!
