torachan: anime-style me ver. 2.0 (Default)
1. So when I came home from work tonight, I found that I had a couple surveys waiting for me to take on MySurvey. I clicked on one and started it and it took FOREVER. I had to watch a slew of commercials multiple times and it was just a real pain in the ass. So I was thinking, I hope this gives me a lot of points at least, to make it worth it, and when I checked afterwards...750 points! Which, without any context doesn't mean anything to you, but usually surveys from this site give more like 75-150 points, with the very occasional (at least for me) 200-300 point survey. One $10 gift certificate (to Amazon or Paypal or whatever) is 1100 points, so it's almost enough for another gift certificate! :D

2. After doing that AO3 meme the other day, I got quite a few kudos on the fics I linked to. :D Yay! (Thank you!!)

3. No work for two days!

4. Finally raws for this week's Jump are up. I hate when scanlators are so determined to be exclusive that they don't post the raws they work from, so the raws show up days later than the English versions.

5. This morning when I woke up, Carla was frying bacon and onions to make quesadillas. They were delicious. :D

Tegan and Sara - The Con
torachan: arale from dr slump dressed in a penguin suit and smiling (arale penguin)
Okay, so this episode was annoyingly heteronormative but it just made me all d'awwww and :DDDDD. I love April and Andy, and I love Ben and Leslie. Also Donna actually had a pretty large role! In a subplot with Ann!

I don't normally make an announcement when I drop people from my flist, but I inevitably get a person here or there PMing me to ask if I dropped them because of anything they did (and the answer is almost always no), so since I am doing a really big cut this time and thus the chance of people messaging/emailing me to ask are that much higher, I figured I'd head that off at the pass.

The fact is, I'm just really overwhelmed right now. When I was working from home, even if I had a lot of work and was busy, I was right here at my computer, so I could take small breaks throughout the day to read my flist and it didn't build up. Now, I read either Tumblr or DW before leaving for work (rarely have time to read both), and then read both when I come home (along with my smaller flists like LJ, but Tumblr and DW are the two huge time sucks) and it just seems to take such a huge chunk of time, even when skimming.

So I'm trying to make my DW reading list more manageable. When I started on DW, I was friending everyone because I wanted to meet new people here. And I kept that habit up for the past two (!!) years DW has been open. I think I had almost 400 people friended when I started this cut tonight and I'd like to get it down to half of that (or less). (I didn't have a lot of comms friended, but I cut almost all the ones I did, even so.)

I'm leaving access for everyone if you still want to read, and I absolutely want to interact with you in comments, etc. if you decide to keep reading. I just don't have the time to read everyone anymore.
