Daily Happiness
Sep. 20th, 2010 08:33 amWe had a really nice walk yesterday morning. It was overcast and foggy almost til noon which made it nice, even though it was still humid. The Santa Monica Mall recently reopened after a couple years and while I have no desire to go shopping there, I was curious to see what it looks like. It is really fancy! Both the design and the shops, almost all of which were very upscale clothing stores or jewllery stores. They definitely seem to be aiming for tourist spot rather than a teen hangout or even just general local shopping place. I doubt I'll ever go down there again, but it certainly does look nice.
Afterwards, we walked to the Sunday farmers' market, which we've never been to before. It's much bigger than the one we usually go to on Saturdays, and very fancy. Lots of stalls selling clothing and crafts, as well as produce. There were also things for kids, like a Snow White doing face-painting and even a pony ride. They also had a ton of stalls selling breakfast and lunch stuff. All we bought was some mint for Carla to make tea, but omg, everything looked delicious. *_* (And tasted delicious, too. Lots of stalls had samples. I even tried a melon (not sure what kind, but green inside) just out of curiosity and found I really liked it. I've never had a melon that I liked before!)
