1. We got another financial aid check from SMC today, just $100, but still. I guess there are three different types of aid we're getting, so they all come separately. (Which is a waste, but at the same time, it's exciting getting more checks. :p)

2. Alexander came over for dinner tonight. He and Carla made adobo chicken, which was delicious, and we hung out and had ice cream after. :) Also he offered me a binder, which I'm pretty excited about. I have been reluctant to order one because they're so expensive and I don't know what size I should get and can't find a lot of info on how they fit on fat people, so I'm really reluctant to spend $30-40 and then have it not fit well.

3. Carla got her new T-Mobile phone today and we've both been checking all day/evening to see if the numbers have transferred and finally when I checked a few minutes ago they both had! And I wasn't sure if we still had to call AT&T and separately cancel our service or if transferring the numbers would automatically do so, but I logged in on the website and it said our service was cancelled, so yay.

4. Today's Maru is so awesome.

What do you know, I've collected up enough random fandom stories for a review post.

The 40 mg Job by [livejournal.com profile] norah 3/5
Leverage. 3800 words. Parker takes the Second Act Rehabilitation Center therapist's advice seriously.
Cute. )

Not Proper (Chinese Boxes Remix) by [livejournal.com profile] penknife 3/5
Peter Pan. 1800 words. In which Mr. Darling goes to Neverland looking for something he's lost.
Good story and works well as a remix. )

Getting On and Getting Off: Or How Touya Akira Got His Groove Back by [livejournal.com profile] beleidigung 2/5
Hikaru no Go. 6100 words. Hikaru and Akira may be older, but neither is much wiser.
Cute if you like this sort of story, I guess. )

Strictly Method by [livejournal.com profile] thingswithwings 5/5 Recommended
Sherlock Holmes. 8600 words. "When I agreed to share lodgings with you, I didn't realise that I would be sharing with twenty-odd others as well," I said. "Perhaps you should be paying additional rent."
This is now my canon. )

Or at least I don't remember dreaming if I do, but today I woke up after the weirdest dream. (I think I dream more/remember my dreams more if it's hot when I'm sleeping, idk.) I dreamt I wrote Star Trek fic (and in my dream, just like in reality, I had not seen the movie). I can't remember what the first fic I wrote was, though I knew I had written something else in my dream, because I was like, damn it, now I'm writing another Trek fic!?

The plot was kind of interesting? But so not anything to do with Trek at all. XD It was kind of Kirk/Spock, I think? But I don't think that was even their names in the fic. And the characterisations and plot certainly weren't at all Trek-related. I mean, it was an AU, but the supposedly Spock character was this kind of evil spoiled prince? IDEK GUYS. And the supposedly Kirk character was his...I don't know what. Like guy hired to pal around with the prince. This was not fantasy/medieval, though, but modern royalty (in a vaguly futuristic setting). And Spock had a sister. And the sister was going away to school (they were all teenagers).

LOL That doesn't sound interesting at all, but it actually was (and very dark, which I always like). Just...so not Star Trek.

Anyway, I blame everyone on my flist who's been so into Star Trek lately.
