Okay, so we've had a leaky faucet in the bathtub for um...probably most of the past year. I'm really lazy about fixing stuff like that, so I just let it go. I did put a new washer in a few months ago, but that didn't really help. It started leaking again right away, and it got progressively worse and worse, until it's really a steady stream, and it started affecting our water and gas bills (because it's the hot water faucet).

So this morning I finally took it apart again and yep, the washer was completely eaten through. Then I shone the flashlight inside the wall to take a look at the part in there and...damn. Completely jagged and rusted. No wonder it was tearing up those washers so quickly. Unfortunately, while I did find a replacement piece in a drawer, we didn't have the tool to get it out. So I just slapped in a new washer and put everything back together and planned to go to Home Depot tonight.

Before we went to the store, I took it all apart again just so I could take the parts with me, and the washer was already ripped up just after ten hours or so.

You can see the bit of the washer that's sticking up. It actually fits perfectly into the notch in the side of the other bit.

So anyway, we got the tool, which was only $6.99 and can do many different sizes, which is good. Home Depot was horrible. We tried to use the self-checkout, but as usual, it wouldn't work properly. It was late at night, so only one checker was open, and there were like ten people in line, all which loads of lumber and pipes. Finally after we'd been standing for a while, they opened a new line and we were able to use that one quickly, but argh. I always hate going there.

Now everything is all put back together and at first it was still dripping a bit, but it seems to have stopped that, so hopefully it will be good for a while now...

Here are some fun links after my boring story.

Jude Law and Cameron Diaz were promoting The Holiday in Japan and were guests on SMAPxSMAP's Bistro SMAP section. Oh my God, you do not know how excited I was about this! I was a huge fan of SMAPxSMAP when it first aired. I watched it religiously for several years before I just kind of stopped watching TV altogether. Anyway, I have always especially loved Bistro SMAP, and it kind of amazes me to see how good everyone has gotten, as I remember when it started and Kimura and Mori were the only ones who could cook.

Anyway, since the guests don't speak Japanese, it's pretty much all in English, so you needn't worry about being lost as to what's going on. Jude is very cute and so was Cameron, actually. It seems like a lot of people dislike her, but I don't know why.

This post has links to the show on youtube, broken up into parts.

This is possibly the funniest parody song I've ever seen. It makes me want to like Alanis Morissette and I've always found her annoying. But come on. She sings Fergie's My Humps as an emotional ballad. And she made a video to go with it. The video kind of makes it.

And here is Kermit covering Johnny Cash's cover of NIN's Hurt. I'm pretty sure nothing beats watching a frog puppet stick a needle in his arm and wank to a photo of Miss Piggy. Oh yeah. That's the good stuff.

This one is more funny-sad than funny-haha. You know there are always those crazy fans who will do anything to meet their idol, well this girl's craziness was helped along by her father, who seems just as crazy as she is, considering he actually committed suicide after she didn't get to meet with her idol Andy Lau.

I haven't quite figured out how I want to do this remix (I have the basic idea, but not sure how to turn it into a story yet), so I just worked on commentary again yesterday. Wow, there are some part of this that are really embarrassing. >_< I think I might get it finished tonight, though.
