Not too many comments on this one. spoilers )

We went over to my grandparents' today for dinner cause my aunt Amy and her fiance are visiting this weekend from Oregon. I think my other aunt, Alice, and her husband have met him when they were up there before, but none of the rest of us have. He seems nice enough.

On our way there, we stopped at Book Market and they are having a sale, 50% off on all CDs. We're going again tomorrow. Well, today, I guess, since it's 1.30. Anyway, this is the last day of the sale. Didn't get much of a chance to look for anything tonight, though, because we were in a hurry.

Speaking of CDs, Bruce got a few the other day at Asahiya. They had a bunch of CDs on clearance for $3 each. Mind, these were brand-new and sealed, not even used or anything. He got two Triceratops albums and one Bon-Bon Blanco.

This week and next week I'm translating albums by Lead and Gackt. The Gackt ones are easy, as anticipated, but the Lead ones, omg. Half the songs are easy boypop stuff, but then there are a bunch of rap ones. Grr. I hadn't realised they had so much rap. Why does everyone have so much rap?

Uh...what?

I know this is supposed to be a celebratory post about how wonderful fanfic is, yet reading it and the comments, it comes across to me as "all fanfic is crap anyway, by definition, so why put any effort into it?" It doesn't make me go "yay, fandom!" it makes me want to get the hell out and never write fanfic again.

I don't understand the mindset where there is no good and bad, everything is good just by virtue of existing. What point is there in trying to excel when you know even the people who couldn't be arsed to try will get gold stars, too?
