A mixed bag
Feb. 11th, 2006 01:03 amI got a check in the mail today from Disney for the last 16 eps. of Magirangers. But...they only took out $120 in taxes, wtf!? Fine. I give up. No matter how many times I talk with Ron and think we're sorted, it's never right, so I'm just giving up. I will set aside money from the Disney checks just as I do the others. Though at the moment we desperately need it to pay bills, so uh.
In eBay news, 10 of the 13 items I had for sale sold, netting me a total of $317.93. Even better? 9 have already paid, including the highest selling item, a complete set of Hikaru no Go manga (23 vols) for $82.99. Several others sold lower than I was hoping (31-vol. set of Slam Dunk only went for $26), but I am pretty happy overall. Two of the items I sold were Christmas gifts, three were old computer stuff we were no longer using, and three were lots of manga I'd finished reading. So I tend to think of stuff like that as complete profit, since it's not something I bought specifically to sell (which I'm not doing much anymore these days cause you're just not guaranteed the sky-high prices you used to get back in the day now that more stuff is readily available).

My back was hurting really badly for a couple days, but is now just twinging a little. Huzzah. But for some reason one of my front bottom teeth has been really sensitive all day. *stabinates*

I have more of those delicious Torrone bars. But Gina brought me a bunch, and I have shipped one off to Cori and Julie. If anyone else wants one, I have two left and want to keep one for myself, but I am willing to send off the other.
Also, I have a bunch of photos for another candy post, and just need to get around to making it. I'm sure I remember thinking that by not having any work to do, I'd have free time to do other stuff... >_>

I have two fics I'm currently working on. I wanted to get another chunk of Falling for the Straight Ones done for Nancy's birthday, but uh. Yeah. However! I'm still determined to get another chunk done this month. The month of her birthday. So, you know. Same difference. :D It involves people IMing each other because they are geeks, yo. I had to come up with IM names. Harder than it sounds. (Well, it was easy for two, but I needed help for the other. What would I do without the spatula crew in times of crisis like this?)
The other is something for
hp_whatif, which I don't want to talk about cause I just don't. It will be a surprise. Suffice it to say, I'm very pleased so far. Have written one scene and thought about three others.
I realise I've been writing a lot of HP lately, so I hope you non-HP folks don't hate me. I feel bad, too, cause I've been neglecting Judewan. I wanted to do Judewan for the
atomic_fiction challenge, but alas, the lyrics I got are completely inappropriate. Or rather, I'd have to write a huge, detailed AU with like, plots and stuff, just in order to set up the scene that would follow from these lyrics. And I really don't have time for that. Or inspiration. :-/ So uh. It's going to be Sirius/Remus because it fits them perfectly.
I got my
remixredux assignment. Am flailing a wee bit because the author I got tends to write epics. The remix only has to be a minimum of 500 words, so I'm not worried on that front, but I have to read through all these long fics to find something to remix! I do not have time for this! *flails*
Anyway, I may have been neglecting my solofic Judewan, but the Est. and Sable Knot are chugging along.
twinkledru and I have a Ewan & Sarah SK log nearly done, and Dee and I are gathering together lots of new material for when
using_words opens up. We've been ficcing up old logs, and for a while we were reposting them on JF, but then I thought, wait a minute, we should save them so there's something exciting and new when we start reposting over here. There is also completely brand new material, including a fic taking place in 1998 and some solofic chronicling Ewan's discovery of the Est. Good stuff, yo. We're excited about it.
I also have other tags in progress. Some Est, some SK, and High Cost of Renting 4 has recently got started and Fallback Crutch 2 is nearing completion.

Last, but in no way least, some kind soul bought me a year's worth of LJ time! Thank you, whoever you are. I would write you some fic or something, but I don't know what fandom you like (or maybe you are not a fandom peep at all). But, you know, anon commenting is on and all, if you wanted to request something and it wouldn't totally give away your sekrit identity. :)
