Daily Happiness

1. Yesterday I came home from work and was really, really tired and usually when that happens I still end up staying up fairly late because I feel like if I go to bed early then I'm losing all my free time, but since I had today off, I figured even if I didn't get anything done last night, I'd still have all of today, so I just went to bed around 9:30. I read for a bit and then tossed and turned for a bit, but still got to sleep before midnight, I think, and then I ended up sleeping until around 11am. I didn't feel tired at all today (and I usually do, even on the days I get to sleep in), either, so I think I really needed the rest!

2. Yesterday was also payday, yay! I wasn't expecting it, either, since somehow I thought we just got paid last week, but obviously it must have been the week before. I also got my tax info, so I can do my taxes soon. :)

3. I got quite a bit of stuff done today.

4. Tonight someone was reading through a bunch of my fics and commenting/favoriting them! This hardly ever happens to me, so it was pretty exciting. :)

5. I was talking to Irene about the Tenchi songs I downloaded the other day, and how way back when I used to have a tape of anime and game music that I recorded off of my TV. I'm a Pioneer was on it, as well as the opening and closing for You're Under Arrest, and I don't remember what else anime-wise, but as for games, the best song on it was the opening theme for Lunar: The Silver Star for the Sega CD. I couldn't even remember how it went now, except that I liked it, but I found it easily on youtube, as well as the Japanese version, and was even able to find an mp3 of the English version (I found a download for the Japanese one, too, but it was on megaupload, boo).

Now I really want to play that game again. It was so good! (I actually bought the Playstation rerelease at one point, but never got around to playing it, and I'm pretty sure I sold it. And my Sega CD is long since gone... Bah.)

I'm actually in the middle of playing Lunar now (the PSP version); I didn't know there were three different English OPs (since the lyrics were changed between PSP/PS1, and I think maybe a key change? I haven't dug the PS1 version out in forever). But yeah, if you have a PSP, there's a rerelease for that that's going for pretty cheap. The new voice acting for some characters (Naaaaall) is hard to get used to, though.

I used to tape songs off the TV like that sometimes when I was in elementary school. I'm pretty sure those tapes are loooong gone though.

Ah man, Lunar! I really loved that game! I played the Sega CD version when my aunt let me borrow her system when I was in middle school, and I become obsessed with the playstation version a little later. If you ever get another chance, I would really recommend that version. It's a lot of fun! The music in both is great, too.

ahh, i remember lunar: tss so fondly. awesome game. though one time when i was replaying the game, i uncharacteristically didn't save for a long time during a period of doing some leveling up (i'm pretty notorious for saving often if the game allows it) and the game froze and all the work and my motivation for finishing that playthrough went down the drain, lol. (ugh, and that's happened a couple times -- in different games, too -- so frustrating.)
