1. Had a really upsetting conversation with my grandma today, but other than that it wasn't too bad. My mom was thrilled with the books I got her. I got her a bunch of Women's Murder Club, which is a series she'd requested, and then the first few Bones books, which I wasn't even sure she knew existed, but apparently she'd been wanting to read them and was really excited about it.

2. I didn't manage to write anything for Yuletide after all. I kept trying with this one fic up until just a few minutes ago, but I felt like I wasn't capturing the feel of the canon at all and when I went back to read the recipient's letter, it didn't seem like it was really fitting the prompts much, either, so I just decided to scrap it. I'm sad about not writing anything again this year, but I'm tired and I do have to work tomorrow, so I'm glad I came to this realisation now and didn't force myself to stay up for a few more hours to try and finish it.

Yeah, I'm just glad I only had to spend a couple hours with them.

I hope you can find some time to escape your family and hang out with friends.

Yeah, it's not like it was a huge surprise to hear she thinks that, but I didn't really need that sort of convo on an already stressful day. Bleh. Glad I probably won't be seeing her again until next Thanksgiving/Christmas.

re: 1 -- i just read your other comments, and ughhh, it sucks so much you had to even have a conversation like that, let alone with family (during family time, at that). hopefully everything else went well.
