Daily Happiness
1. I really didn't get a lot done today, just generally felt totally unmotivated to do anything other than read my flists and watch Super Mario Galaxy 2 let's plays, but I did finally get a few things done this evening, including the two main things I really, really wanted to get done today, so there's that.
2. One of those things was to mend this sock that has been sitting in the drawer for ages. It's so annoying. I bought these nice polar fleece socks a while back and the very first time I put them in the wash, the seam came almost completely undone up the side of one of them. (And unlike the other two items of clothing that happened with recently, they weren't even cheap! They were REI socks that were $10 on clearance! I expect better from a pair of socks that is marked down to ten fucking dollars.) Anyway, since it was right on the seam, it's not like it's difficult to fix, even for someone with only the most basic of sewing skills like myself, but I didn't feel like it, and then it was warmer weather. But now it's cold weather again and I wanted to wear them, so I sewed it partway a few days ago and then finally finished it up today (while watching the let's play!).
3. The other thing I did was make banana muffins to take to work tomorrow. Since everyone else has been bringing in stuff, I wanted to make something, and while I gave some thought to magic cookie bars and even bought most of the ingredients last night when I stopped at the store, it turned out that I didn't have any graham crackers in the cupboard like I thought, so if I wanted to make them, I would have to go out again today, and I really didn't feel like it, so I went with my second choice. I got almost nine pounds of bananas the other day for 99 cents, so it's probably better to use those up anyway! (And then I can make magic cookie bars another time and keep them all for myself!)
4. Now that Irene finally has her health care through the state of Massachusetts, her cymbalta prescription went from being $240 a month to under $4. O_o That is awesome and also amazing. (And also frustrating that it's so ridiculously high without insurance!)

And then I put it on the shelf by the customer service where employees often save stuff they want to pay for later and a customer snagged it thinking it was to go back on the shelf and she would just buy it and save us the trouble of returning it. XD So I nearly lost my bananas, but just happened to be out there and notice they were gone and when I said something to one of the cashiers about my missing bananas, she overheard me and apologised and gave them back. XD

Also, yay for mending socks. I...do not do that. I have two or three pair in my closet that I love too much to get rid of but am too lazy to repair. :(
