1. Wow, two days in a row of no heartburn/acid reflux/idk what it actually is but it's been bothering me every day for months. Hopefully it will just disappear as randomly as it appeared. That would be nice.

2. Today was so busy at work. I feel like I didn't get anything done because I was constantly being called out to the registers to deal with this or that, but if I actually think through everything I did today, I did get a decent amount of stuff done.

3. I have tomorrow off, so I'm looking forward to sleeping in and not having to listen to Christmas music all day. (The worst thing about Christmas songs is that there's a million versions of them, so even if I thumbs down a song I don't like on Pandora, someone else's version will come up. It's like whack-a-mole only with Santa Baby and Baby It's Cold Outside and Do They Know It's Christmas.)

4. I broke open the Trader Joe's cranberry pistachio biscotti and omg it's so good. *_* I don't think that's going to last very long.

I'm generally pretty fond of Christmas music -- with some exceptions -- but after 2 months of nothing but all day at work, I never want to hear another carol for the rest of my life. Fortunately that usually wears off by around the 4th of July, giving me enough time to recover before the next round. Seriously, 2 months! Who on earth decided Halloween was the right pivot point?

Thankfully we've only had it on for most of December. I don't mind actual carols as much but I get really sick of the Santa ones very quickly.

I'm pretty sure we were playing Christmas music before Thanksgiving at work, but it started out with just a few tracks now and then and escalated. I'm wondering if they'll just shut it off after Christmas or if we'll have to suffer through New Year's? If I have to hear that insipid "Do You Hear What I Hear?" one more time I may go bonkers.

OTOH they also play some old Paul McCartney songs, longtime favourites of mine that I haven't heard in years, so it's not ALL bad. :)

Do You Hear What I Hear? can get annoying for me after a while, but isn't one of the worst for me. (Mostly it reminds me of a Christmas concert I was in in elementary school, which is the first time I'd ever heard it.)

Ah, sorry, I missed a word… the song itself is OK, but the version of it they're playing at work makes me want to gag.

I've never thought about it before, but looking back, I think the McDs I worked at in NZ went really easy on the Christmas music because it didn't have the same business benefits as it does in retail. People weren't going to buy an extra Big Mac, wrap it up and put it under the tree, so while we quite likely played some Christmas music close to the time, I don't remember any ear-gouging excesses of it.

THIS! I had to put up with two months of enforced Christmas songs for several years and just arrrrrrgh.

It's like whack-a-mole only with Santa Baby and Baby It's Cold Outside and Do They Know It's Christmas.

ding, ding, ding! but mostly it's the second song. dear lord, i hear that song and its many variations so much during one work shift it's nuts.

Yeah, that one is highly annoying, but the cutesy cloying Santa Baby gets on my nerves almost as much (and seems to have just as many covers).

I can't stand Santa Baby for exactly that reason, and I don't think I've even been subjected to it that much.

If nothing else, this season makes me thankful that usually I have much more control over what music is played and can choose something more to my liking!
