1. Got an early birthday card and check from Irene's folks today. :)

2. I finished reading Mockingjay tonight, which makes three books this month! Kind of amazing considering I had only read three books in the preceeding five months of the year. ^_^;;

3. It was fun getting to read the new Homestuck updates as they were posted today, though now that I have no more canon to read, I am kind of in withdrawal. D:

4. I walked down to Pollo Loco for dinner tonight and had one of their delicious poblano burritos. omg so good. *_*

5. The second pair of jeans I ordered came today and they are also too baggy in the calves, so I will just have to make due with the ones I have for another week. But at least next Wednesday I will be going to Walmart and can 1. return both these pairs, and 2. try on some more! And this time I will for sure write down somewhere which styles have narrower legs, because I am shit at guessing and not all product descriptions mention that.

Ha, I have enormous calves and have trouble getting jeans that fit! Maybe we should average out!

LOL My calves are pretty big, too, but these are straight-leg jeans, so the calves are the same size as the thighs, and my calves are definitely smaller than that.

I don't know how handy you are with sewing projects, but narrowing the legs would be a pretty do-able beginner project if you happen to have a sewing machine sturdy enough to handle denim. I hope you can find some that actually come the way you want them, though. I can't stand trying to order pants online because I can't possibly tell from the descriptions whether or not they'll fit and I hate dealing with returning things. I pretty much try to find a store that sells the same clothes all the time, try on pants once until I find something workable, and then buy those same pants over and over until they change their styles around and I have to start the whole business over again.

As an aside, I sprained my ankle in late May and have been really, really glad that I buy straight leg jeans as I've been able to wear them over my ankle brace with no trouble, but I do have to do something to them to ride bikes without worrying about them. (I make a point of buying jeans with legs wide enough at the bottom to roll them into knee-length shorts because I don't buy shorts and this lets me make shorts on the rare occasions I want them. This is not a consideration that most people worry about in their pants.)

Unfortunately I don't really sew and don't have the time to learn or money to buy a sewing machine. (I mean, I know how to mend thing by hand, but not in a way that looks nice and it generally doesn't last that long.)

I really wish that there were stores close enough that I could just go to the store. But I'm still a little too fat to be able to reliably find my size jeans at a regular store (I'm a 40 and they often only go up to 38), but neither do I want to pay $40+ for a pair of jeans at the fat dudes store. XD So I really need somewhere like Walmart, that carries a wide range of sizes but at low prices, and unfortunately there are none close by.
