1. I had to go in to work earlier than I'd hoped, which meant I didn't get much sleep, but I did manage to get out of there by midafternoon, so that was good. And I have tomorrow off.

2. Carla arrived back safe and sound tonight.

3. We watched last week's Rick and Morty, which I hadn't seen yet because Carla was out of town and I was too lazy to watch it on my own. It was pretty good, but not as awesome as the week before or Pickle Rick.

4. Jasper is such a cutie.

1. I was at work from 9am to after 2am, but inventory is over and I don't have to think about it for another six months. Also unless I get an emergency call or something tomorrow morning, I'm planning on only going in for a few hours in the afternoon to do my ordering and anything else that urgently needs to get done.

2. I walked in to see Chloe being super cute on the couch.

torachan: onoda sakamichi from yowamushi pedal with a huge smile (onoda smile)
1. I actually slept in until ten, which is not something that usually happens lately even if I have the opportunity.

2. I had a nice relaxing day and didn't go anywhere or do much of anything.

3. Cooler weather means cats in the bed.

Summary: Sickly Kishida Jun has the ability to see ghosts, but in his opinion, it's a stupid power and nothing good ever comes of it. Considering the number of grisly situations he seems to find himself in after the ghost of his childhood friend Hayakawa Ryoko starts following him around, he may have a point.

Chapter Summary: In chapter 19, strange things start happening after Kishida and Koizumi find themselves near a tunnel where a bus full of students died in a fire. In chapter 20, the occult club finds themselves trapped on a farm, surrounded by pigs who seem to have developed a taste for human flesh.

Chapter 20: Day of the Pig

And this brings us to the end of volume 3, so here's a full volume download for those who want it.
torachan: close-up of a sleepy kitten face (sleepy molly)
1. Day off tomorrow! Tuesday is the dreaded twice-yearly inventory, and I will likely be at work for like eighteen hours or something ridiculous like that, so I am going to enjoy my day of rest tomorrow.

2. I got some really good cuddle time with Jasper today. Poor baby misses Carla so much. :( But I'm loving the cuddle time.

3. Despite some recent hecticness, things are actually going really well at work right now.

4. I love this pic of Molly.

torachan: arale from dr slump dressed in a penguin suit and smiling (arale penguin)
1. I got to sleep in and go to work at my scheduled time and didn't have anyone calling or texting me in the morning about urgent stuff. (Hopefully can replicate that again tomorrow.)

2. One of the samplings we have at work this weekend is ramen and that made me want ramen for dinner, so I bougt some and made it and it was delicious.

3. Our Apple TV has been malfunctioning even more than usual lately, but we didn't want to buy a new one just yet considering they were going to be releasing a new version soon. Well, they finally officially announced it and we have ordered it and it will be ours in a few weeks.

4. My cats are just so cute I can't stand it.

torachan: arale from dr slump dressed in a penguin suit and smiling (arale penguin)
1. Mario Odyssey looks so great. Every new preview I see makes me want to play it even more. Only a month and a half left till it's out!

2. Miraculously, the sprouts I had in the fridge from a couple weeks ago were still good, so I made a tasty chicken sandwich tonight for dinner.

3. Hopefully I can sleep in tomorrow? We'll see if it happens, but theoretically it's a go.

4. An employee is transferring to another store and today was his last day, so there was pizza, and since I was the one who ordered it, I got from Ciccero's, which is the best, and I got (among other things) their BBQ chicken pizza, which is so good. *_*

5. With Carla gone, Jasper is wanting more attention from me the past couple days. He has been sleeping on my desk a lot when I'm at the computer, and tonight I even got to cuddle with him for a while!

torachan: arale from dr slump dressed in a penguin suit and smiling (arale penguin)
1. Kinda bummed I didn't get more done today, especially translating-wise, but I actually got a fair bit of random stuff done around the house, and anyway after yesterday I just needed a day to really relax, and I had one, so yay.

2. It's been so chilly the last few nights I've been using my heavy blanket again.

3. I had some veggies I needed to use up, so I got a steak down from the freezer and made some instant mashed potatoes and had a nice dinner, and there was enough leftovers to put together two more meals, which are now in tupperwares for easy eating over the next few days.

4. Nothing brings kitties together like stalking a bug.

What are you currently reading?
Eh, same as last week: Meddling Kids and Satan: A Biography. It's been a really busy week, so I haven't made much progress on either (I think I'm at 10% and 15%, respectively).

What did you recently finish reading?
See above, re: busy week. I did read the most recent volume of Silver Spoon, though. I guess it's on a fairly erratic schedule these days, but it continues to be really cute, so I'll continue to read a volume whenever one comes out. (And thankfully it's easy enough to pick up after a long time, even if I've forgotten what's going on.)

What do you think you'll read next?
No idea. I really should just concentrate on those two books, but I also want to read some more manga or comics, maybe.
torachan: a kitten looking out the window (chloe in window)
1. I am exhausted. Was at work over thirteen hours today and pretty much going non-stop the entire time, but I have tomorrow off and only a couple small things I need to do, so I am going to relax and enjoy staying home.

2. There's a fair amount of leftovers in the fridge right now, so I was able to just pop something in the microwave and didn't have to cook dinner.

3. I love this sweetie Chloe.

torachan: nepeta from homestuck (nepeta)
1. The cats don't usually sleep in the bed with us because there's not much room, but this morning I woke up to find both Jasper and Chloe in bed with me. :D

2. Carla had a safe and uneventful flight.

3. It's actually quite chilly tonight. I'm enjoying it! (Though if I weren't going to bed in a few minutes, I'd be tempted to put on a sweater.)

4. I finished up the one-shot that goes with Tera Girl, so hopefully we can get that posted sometime soon and then that will be one more project completed and off my list of things to juggle!

5. Jasper!

torachan: brandon flowers of the killers with the text "some beautiful boy to save you" (some beautiful boy to save you)
1. I was super tired this afternoon and took a nap. I actually felt refreshed and more awake afterwards, which was nice.

2. I took Carla to the airport tonight and now I have the bed to myself for a whole week, woohoo! :D

3. Cutie Molly.

torachan: a kitten looking out the window (chloe in window)
1. It's my day off tomorrow, but I can't sleep in because I have to go to Gardena to renew my forklift license and the class starts at nine. :( But at least traffic is going the opposite direction, so it should only take half an hour-ish to get there rather than an hour or more if I were coming the other way, and the class should only be a couple hours and then I have the rest of the day free.

2. Carla is going back to the midwest to visit her folks for a week and went to See's Candy today to get them some candy, and got me a bag of Scotchmallows, too. :D

3. Tonight's Rick and Morty was so good! I loved all the world building going on and am super excited about spoilers )

4. Such a pretty kitty.

Summary: Five years ago, pro wrestler Fuji Kaoru disappeared one day before a match. Now she shows up at her old gym out of the blue, with a five-year-old daughter in tow. But not everyone is willing to welcome her back with open arms.

Chapter Summary: Erika spends a day at the zoo with her dad.

Chapter 15: Sunday with Daddy and Erika
torachan: john from homestuck looking shocked (john shocked)
1. I ended up having to go in to work early this morning, but at least it wasn't super urgent so I was still able to sit and have a bite to eat before I left.

2. We had strawberries and whipped cream for dessert tonight. Yum!

3. We were so close to getting a shot of all three kitties on the shelves (Molly where she is here, and Chloe and Jasper on the shelf below), but sadly they moved when Carla got up with her camera. But she did get this cute shot of Molly and Chloe together.

torachan: my glitch character (glitch)
1. Had a pretty hectic day today, but a good one. The two new stockers who started today both seem pretty good, the new produce guy that started earlier this week is working out well, I hired a new cashier, and only one person was out sick.

2. Although I had a long day I still made the effort to cook dinner and we had super delicious curry and now have tons of leftovers.

3. We got some epic pics of Jasper napping yesterday.

torachan: sakaki from azumanga daioh holding a cat, with the text "I like cats" in Japanese (sakaki)
1. Since I decided to add all my manga to Goodreads, I went ahead and added everything I've read this year, which of course put me way over my goal for the year, so I've upped my goal again to 120 total. I'm at 95 right now, so that should be doable. I don't want to set it too high and then not make my goal, after all, and I can always up it again if I seem to be reading at a faster rate.

2. I thought I might have to go in to work really early tomorrow, but now I won't have to!

3. It's actually pretty chilly tonight. (I'm actually tempted to put on a sweater.)

4. Being home meant I got to spend plenty of time with my sweet kitties.

torachan: ewan mcgregor pulling his glasses down to look over the top (ewan glasses)
What are you currently reading?
Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero. I think I saw this on Goodreads somewhere and the cover and blurb ("The surviving members of a forgotten teenage detective club (and their dog) must reunite as broken adults to finally solve the terrifying case that ruined them all and sent the wrong man to prison.") caught my interest right away. I only read the prologue so far, so I don't really have anything to say about it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Also just started Satan: A Biography by Henry Ansgar Kelly. It's a look at the history of Satan in Christianity and how he's actually portrayed in the Bible itself versus what came later. Again, I've only read a little so far, but I'm enjoying it.

What did you recently finish reading?
I finished up Theater People the other day. It was slow to start with, but the further I got into it, the more I got sucked in, and I ended up reading the last fourth of it in one day. I think I ended up liking it even more than the first book.

I also finished Rat Bohemia a few days ago. I didn't like it as much as some of her other stuff, but it was still pretty good.

I read volumes five and six of Koiiji. Although I've liked this series from the beginning, it's really starting to heat up. For a while there I was content to just read it as I translated, but this time I was screencapping volume five and what I saw made me want to read it right away, and then that was kind of cliffhangery, so I read volume six as well. Volume seven is out next month, I believe, so I'll probably read that when it comes out, too.

I also read vol. 29 of Kimi ni Todoke today, which is probably the second to last volume? This covered up through their graduation, and I can't imagine it going on much longer. I really hope there's a flash-forward chapter, though, because spoilers )

What do you think you'll read next?
Well, I just got started on these two books, so probably not anything else bookwise for a bit, and as for manga, idk. I did just download the newest volume of Silver Spoon today, so probably that!
torachan: a cartoon kitten with a surprised/happy expression (chii)
1. Got a text at 7:45 this morning that a delivery truck was at work and the guy who is supposed to do the forklift had called and said he's stuck in traffic. I wasn't sure when he would get there, but figured I'd better go in anyway just to help check everything in, since most other people wouldn't be there until nine. As it turns out, the guy who was stuck in traffic didn't get there until an hour after I did, and the delivery guy had just left the pallets outside in the alley and driven off (including frozen merchandise), so I'm really glad that I just live down the street and it doesn't take me much time to get ready for work, so I was able to roll out of bed and be there in fifteen minutes, but jeez.

2. The nice thing about taking a Tuesday off is that not only do I have two days off in a row with Monday and Tuesday, but then I only have to work one day before it's my day off again! :D

3. Molly is such a sweetheart. Look at that fluffy tummy and boopable snoot!
